First time PC build ever! Need help!

Hey guys super new to the forums and building PC's altogether. I'm Nat and it's great to be here! Well I am ordering these parts to build a new pc that my friend is going to build for me. I am ordering all of the stuff from Newegg.com

I am using this computer to surf the web, do whatever, play computer games, watch hd videos, edit photos, and etc.

If all you're doing is
Quote:
surf the web, do whatever, play computer games, watch hd videos, edit photos, and etc.
then you would be better off building on the Intel 1156 P55 chipset.
It will save you some money and you won't lose anything at all in noticeable performance but you will gain some stability and hassle free computing.

Look at:

ASUS P7P55D-E LGA Motherboard
Intel Core i5-750 or Intel Core i7-860 CPU
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Memory
SAPPHIRE 100282-3SR Radeon HD 5850 or DIAMOND 5870PE51G Radeon HD 5870 Video Card. (depending on how much gaming you do - 5870 is for serious gaming performance, 5850 is still excellent)
Ditch the Velociraptor and stick with the WD Caviar Black drives
Corsair 750TX PSU would be more than sufficient.
