Building New PC for Video Editing/Games
Hey all
Been out of the component loop for nearly a year now but am getting back into it again now I need a new computer. I will be using it for video editing and occasionally some games such as World of Warcraft. Here's what I came up with so far; CPU - Intel Core i5 750 Mobo - ASUS P7P55D-E LX Intel P55 RAM - G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz or this, any input? Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz HDD - Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - not too sure about this, any better ones out there? Graphics - EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX Superclocked 512MB GDDR3 - seeing as I'm not playing graphic intensive games I'm guessing this will do justice plus it keeps me within budget. Case - Coolermaster Storm Scout PSU - My broken HX620W was sent off to Corsair for RMA last week, should be getting it back soon. Budget = £650 - £700. ^this build comes to around £635

My only quibble would be with the video card. The 9800 is 2 generations old. Get a Radeon 5000 series.

Alright thanks, I'll go for a 5770. Any reason you chose the ASUS one ryuk999?

The main reason for choosing Asus is because they typically have better support for the product, XFX is known for having a crappy product. As for some of the other brands such as VTX and Club 3D I know nothing about and are probably a brand in Europe. The only other 2 options that looked ok were HIS and Saphire, in that order.
