major problems with new rig

Hi,

I built myself a new rig from scratch here are the specs:

OS - win 7 64 bit

ASrock P55M Pro Mobo
inter core i7 860.
700w CIT PSU
8 GB corsair ddr3
1gb radeon HD5750
1TB Sata HDD

After building the system it worked fine, I installed new video drivers, steam and was in the process of installing dragon age origins. At some point during the installation i went downstairs to watch some tv and came back around 2 hours later. The screen was totally black. I restarted and was met with a: 'windows failed to start: this may be due to recent hardware or software changes'.

I used the recommended option to fix this but then the screen just went totally black. I then tried to boot windows as normal and my monitor just turns off and when I switch it back there is just a black screen.

I then tried to start in safe mode but it does not boot and stops at windows\system32\DRIVERS\CLASSPNP.SYS

After this I tried to reinstall windows 7 completely by booting from the disc. Unfortunately the installation always freezes at the same place when 'windows is loading files'.

This is the first ever time I have made a pc and am really stuck at what to do. I changed the PSU but still getting the same problem. Any help with this would be very much appreciated.

Your brand choice for the motherboard and PSU leaves something to be desired. I would go to www.memtest.org and download memtest86+ and run it - and also gho to the hard drive manufacturer's site and download their standalone diagnostics and run them too.
