major problems with new rig
Hi,
I built myself a new rig from scratch here are the specs: OS - win 7 64 bit ASrock P55M Pro Mobo inter core i7 860. 700w CIT PSU 8 GB corsair ddr3 1gb radeon HD5750 1TB Sata HDD After building the system it worked fine, I installed new video drivers, steam and was in the process of installing dragon age origins. At some point during the installation i went downstairs to watch some tv and came back around 2 hours later. The screen was totally black. I restarted and was met with a: 'windows failed to start: this may be due to recent hardware or software changes'. I used the recommended option to fix this but then the screen just went totally black. I then tried to boot windows as normal and my monitor just turns off and when I switch it back there is just a black screen. I then tried to start in safe mode but it does not boot and stops at windows\system32\DRIVERS\CLASSPNP.SYS After this I tried to reinstall windows 7 completely by booting from the disc. Unfortunately the installation always freezes at the same place when 'windows is loading files'. This is the first ever time I have made a pc and am really stuck at what to do. I changed the PSU but still getting the same problem. Any help with this would be very much appreciated. |

Your brand choice for the motherboard and PSU leaves something to be desired. I would go to www.memtest.org and download memtest86+ and run it - and also gho to the hard drive manufacturer's site and download their standalone diagnostics and run them too.
