AMD Gaming Build - Opinions?

Hey everyone,

I'm finally going to be building a computer for myself. Saved up my nickels and dimes and I'm just about there. I'm going to be video editing using Sony Vegas Pro. I edit MP4 files so they are huge files that I'll be messing with and rendering. Also I plan to start PC gaming again. I haven't played a pc game for about 5-6 years now.

I'm going AMD simply because of the price. I know the Phenom II X6 just came out but $300 is a bit steep for me right now. I'll wait until the price drops to buy it.

Alright so here is what I'm going for.

Computer Case - I'm still indecisive about it. Not exactly the nicest case.
Antec Twelve Hundred Black Steel ATX Full Tower Computer Case

Motherboard
MSI 790FX-GD70 AM3 AMD 790FX ATX AMD Motherboard

Processor
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor

Graphics Card
EVGA 896-P3-1257-AR GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Superclocked Edition 896MB

Power Supply
CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W SLI Ready

Memory
OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

HDD
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM SATA

CD/DVD Burner/Reader
Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Black SATA

I left out the Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse. I have a 23" monitor in my wish list and I'm thinking about doing a dual setup. I'm also sticking to the onboard sound card for now.

My opinion is ditch the Nvidia and go with an ATI 5830
I would go with a WD black instead of the WD Blue, they are much faster.
OCZ Ram is very problamatic and they are having major production issues. I recommend getting Crucial, Kingston, Corsair or ADATA instead.
MSI motherboards are a huge NO! their failure rates is very high and their customer support is horrible.
Go with an Asus motherboard and save yourself a lot of headache.

This one doesn't seem too bad if your going with the quality of a Gigabyte card, the Asus is still the best quality hands down for it's hardware + customer support.

aww man, i was gonna try to tell you there is a 200 dollar version of the phenom II x6, only like 20 bucks more than the quad you got. the quad is still a very nice processor though, havent managed to max it out yet though =D
