Inexpensive Gaming Build
My brother asked me to help him build a PC for $700 or less, not including the monitor and operating system. I built my first PC almost four years ago, so I'm a little out of the hardware loop.
This is the build we have so far: Computer Case: Rosewill Smart One ATX Mid Tower 49.99 (by itself) Optical Drive: LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Black SATA Model iHAS-324-98 28.99 (by itself) +1.99 shipping Power Supply: SILVERSTONE ST50F-ES 500W ATX12V v2.3 80 59.99 (by itself) or XCLIO GOODPOWER 500W 500W ATX SLI 49.99 (by itself) Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache 55.99 (by itself) Video Card: HIS H577FM1GD Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 154.99 CPU/Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 635 Propus 2.9GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core 119.99 Motherboard: MSI 770-G45 AM3 AMD 770 ATX AMD 79.99 +2.99 shipping RAM: A-DATA Gaming Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) 109.99 I'm open to any modifications to this build. The thing I'm most curious about is the processor choice. Intel has a processor for the exact same price: Intel Core i3-530 Clarkdale 2.93GHz 4MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Anything helps. Thanks a lot. |

Go with a Seasonic, Corsair or Antec 500-550 watt power supply. You can get them for roughly the same price plus they are of the best quality. Corsair makes a super quiet one.
What Power Supply should I get? How many Watts? Who made it? Guide Inside.

MSI motherboards are bad news.
This is the motherboard I recommend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131603

I'd get a WD Caviar black instead of the blue hard drive. WD Caviar Black 500GB
Try this Antec PSU.Antec BP550 Plus MSI is not know for it's quality products, ASUS is. ASUS M4A77TDYou could try either a Athlon II X2 245 Or Athlon II X3 435 Edit: Khalil - 2 Ryuk - 0 2nd time you beat me to it...
