Compatibility Issues

I have the following question I have a WD IDE hard drive listed below and want to upgrade my drive as I am having issues with my computer I think I have a virus easiest way to fix is reinstall windows what I want to do is get a new hard drive Western Digital Caviar Black WD6401AALS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5"

what I need to know is can I use an IDE drive as secondary and the SATA as primary with this mother board? 2nd part of the question is I had gotten new memory the upgrade to the 2 1xgb sticks I still have the 2 512mb sticks and can I put them in also to give me a total of 3 gigs of ram or will there be a compatiblity issue? My main use of my computer is playing wow and getting on the internet and right now I am constantly rebooting my computer as my speed is severly limited except after I reboot.. Any help is greatly appreciated.. thxs
