First-time builder, how's this?
I've been building this gaming-PC for about 4 days. I am a first-time builder, and I don't know all the rules for compatibility. Could anyone confirm what I've checked before I buy all of it! :X Thank you!! Any general comments or nit-picking performance swapouts is also welcome!

If you're serious about gaming you should be investing more in the video card. Maybe the HD 5770 would be a good compromise of price/performance.
You could save on the CPU without giving up anything in gaming performance and get the Athlon II X3 440 Rana 3.0Ghz http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-843-_-Product The Antec 900 is a very nice case. If you wanted to you can save money there and spend more on the GPU, or a bigger monitor. I think you'll wish you had a 23" widescreen after a while. WD Caviar black SATA drives are the recommended drives. 1333 Mhz DDR3 will work fine too but there's barely any savings there. Check out the QVL for compatibility. ASRock is not a good way to go, not for $91 either.
Here is the motherboard I recommend http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131603 As Orbrit suggested you do not need to invest your money in a Quad Core to game, an AMD Regor 255 is plenty enough to game. You need a video card though, again as Orbrit suggested a 5770 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-317-_-Product http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-363-_-Product will do the trick nicely.
