Upgrade suggestions?
Hey guys,
Been thinking of upgrading my Mobo,Cpu,Ram and getting a Solid state disk. What i currently have is in my sig,Do you think these are a worth upgrade of what i already have? Intel Core i5 750 2.66GHz Socket LGA1156 8MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor Plan to overclock this to 4Ghz! ,My tuniq tower is more than capable.Asus P7P55 LX P55 Socket 1156 8 Channel Audio Out ATX Motherboard G-Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz/PC3-12800 Ripjaw Memory Kit CL7(7-8-7-24) 1.65V OCZ Vertex Series 60GB 2.5" Solid State Hard Drive SATAII 64MB Cache 230MB/s Read, 135 MB/s Write thanks

What do you do with the PC? Mainly gaming I assume?

Hi,
Yes gaming...and the usual internet etc. I had thought about getting a DX11 graphics card,But at this moment in time there realy isnt many DX11 games,and to be honest from side by side comparisions DX10/11 you cant see much diffrence...so im going to stick with my 4890 until i need to upgrade

I'd recommend something other than G.skill ram - we have seen a lot of issues with it recently. Stick with Corsair, Kingston, Crucial, or A-Data.

I don't think you'll really notice a worthwhile improvement in gaming with the upgrades you listed.
What is your perception of gaming performance on your current rig? |
