Need help with determining memory to use
I recently purchased a combo deal at New Egg that included the following motherboard:
MSI 785GT-E63 AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard Item #: N82E16813130266 As I have done for 3 previous custom builds, I went to the board mfg (in this case MSI) website to find qualfied memory stick suppliers that I can choose from. To my surprise there are none that I can find. All that I see is a general description of the memory that can be used that reads as follows: "Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 1.8 Volt DDR2 533/667/800/1066* (OC) SDRAM, 16GB Max" Since I have had great success with using qualified memory sticks in previous builds I hesitate to take a chance on this board with a best guess and not have it post along with possibly having to return product, etc. I tried to identify a memory stick on my own but found that the pin number can vary from one possible choice to another so I have stopped. I know enough to be dangerous but not enough to risk the board. Can anyone offer me advice on how to proceed with the memory choice ? Perhaps someone has built a rig using this board and knows of one that works from experience. Thanks |

You need the test report section below then click on memory modules.
