New Build black screen no bios no post noises
So i built this PC because I am out of work and I need to do graphic design to eat because that's my marketable skill- so I am super disappointed.
below are the components I used. I also used a thermaltake 750w power supply. this is my first computer building experience, but I am pretty good with this stuff ( I replaced a lot of components on my mac ibook). I put my processor in and wonder if I ruined it. it was like the first thing I did 12 hours ago, so it's kinda fuzzy, but i did place it in backwards, altough I didn't press down. there's no pins on it their just metal nubbins. When I turn on the computer the dvd drive can eject, both case fans work and my cooling master V8 works too (I think I coould be wrong there's only a little airflow out the side, but I see a red light on the V8 although it could be reflection from another light.) i hope someone can put my mind at ease about the processor and help me troubleshoot this. Do you have the 8 pin connector on your motherboard plugged in?
Many folks forget that one, and only plug in the obvious 24 pin connector.

No, that won't cause damage - as you saw, it just won't fire up.
