does anyone have experience building a pc for vienna symphony library?

i want to build a computer to run vienna symphony mir it calls for PC Dual Intel Quad Core XEON 5520 or better, with Vista/Windows 7 64-bit and 24 gb ram... from what i can tell a 5620 is almost identically priced and better performance
in mir the more instruments you run the more cpu and ram intensive so they say...
does any one have any experience or incite in what i might do on the cheap side not that a couple thousand is cheap but it is easy to go over board i just wondered if vsl was leading me down an expensive path...!!!

Would you please post a link to the site for that software so we can read up on the requirements and recommendations?

Dodger Ace, is this the software and version you have? I am a church musician and music director, but am unfamiliar with it.

Keyword is or better! A Magny-Cours system will conquer this software and utilize it to its maximum.

Newegg.com - ASUS KGPE-D16 Dual Socket G34 AMD SR5690 SSI EEB 3.61 Dual 8/12 Core AMD Opteron 6000 series Server Motherboard
2 X Newegg.com - AMD Opteron 6128 Magny-Cours 2.0GHz 8 x 512KB L2 Cache 12MB L3 Cache Socket G34 115W 8-Core Server Processor OS6128WKT8EGOWOF for a total of 16 cores, the motherboard will allow you up to 64GB UDIMM memory and 256GB RDIMM memory!
My system that I use for audio production is a 24 core with 2 of these Newegg.com - AMD Opteron 6172 Magny-Cours 2.1GHz 12 x 512KB L2 Cache 12MB L3 Cache Socket G34 115W 12-Core Server Processor OS6172WKTCEGOWOF needless to say, my workstation owns!!!!!
Have fun.

Yes, this one here will do the job very well and fit under 2k and memory can be upgraded on it to 32GB easily.
8 Core CPU
Motherboard
Memory x 6 24GB Total
Case
Power Supply
Video Card onboard video sucks with 64 bit and you will likely want to use dual monitors with such software.
Windows
System Drive
DATA DRIVE
Optical Drive you can add more data drives as you go.
If you need help building it just ask, I have built several Servers/Workstations with these processors and that motherboard this year and I am very impressed with the performance.
Total cost of parts is $2038

Khalil, I saw your first system last night WOW. It is had to imagine a screaming system like that. I am presuming the link I posted is what the original poster had in mind. I too noticed the minimum / suggested requirements and have dealt with such things before with a video capture card on the old WIn98SE. The "minimum requirements" only allowed me to record for about 6 minutes at a time. What a crock.

Khalil, your PSU and system drive links both go to an empty shopping cart.
