Possibly a stupid question ...

I have bought a Phenom II X4 955 CPU. It came of course with its stock cooling fan that I want to use.

Do I need to put any thermal paste between the CPU and the heat sink? I don't intend to overclock it.

Somebody told me paste would come with it if needed, but there was none in the box.

Take a look underneath the HSF, compound should be already there. With stock HSFs you don't have to manually apply anything.

OK - saw a grey area but wasn't sure - seems good enough for me :-)

Many thanks.
