What ports should I use?
About 6 months ago I made a thread (found here) needing feedback on a computer build. Seeing that it is put away deep in the archives of PCMech I didn't see it fit to bump it.
Well, good news. I finally bought, got, and built the computer with minor changes. It works great to my understanding (managed to buy an IDE dvd-driver instead of SATA. Will pick up the SATA on monday). The only thing I'm wondering about is the case sound and usb. The parts of the computer are in my signature and as you can see I chose the Asus P7P55D. First question: There are three usb ports on the motherboard, 1314, 1112 and 910. What one should I use? (This is for the front case usb entrances). Second question: Should I plug in the HD Audio for the case or the AC' 97? (This is for the front case minijack entrances) I know all the options will work, but I'm wondering what would be best. The usage for the computer is still the same.

1. Doesn't matter. I usually use the lower numbered ones first, which would be 9-10.
2. HD Audio, as long as you have HD Audio enabled in the bios instead of AC97. Make sure you put it on the right header. |

USB ports are numbered. Your first 8 ports are on the rear port block, then ports 9 through 14 are on headers. No significance. It's just like the SATA port numbering.

So its to be systematical and seeing that i have 8 on the back, it would only make sense to have 9 and 10 as the front
