First build setup, confer please

Hello.

This will be my first build of a computer. It is going to be a "gaming" system. Mostly to play games such as WoW and CoD so benchmarks on those games need to be good. I do not want to spend alot of money. Roughly £1000, less if possible; with what I have now is about £900. I'm listing my setup if you can find any problems or if theres anything I can replace which would be better etc. Thanks.

CPU: Intel Core i5 760 2.80ghz (Overclocked) @ 4.00ghz

Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55

RAM: Corsair XMS3 (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel

Main Cooler: Titan TTC-NK85TZ/V2 Fenrir CPU Cooler

Case: Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two

Power: Corsair TX 650W ATX

Graphics Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache

Drive: LG GH22NS50 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter

I will be running Windows 7 32 bit. I have been told that its the best to run at this current date due to driver issues and such with the 64 bit edition.

The CPU, Motherboard, RAM and Cooler is a package on Overclockers.

At the very least you should change the hard drive to a Western Digital Black. I will leave the rest to the others more knowledgeable than I.

I'd not recommend getting a seagate drive and something more like WD 500GB caviar black.

Next I wouldn't overclock your processor until you actually find out that the processor is actually sufficient for the programs you want to run.

The ram you picked out is good for overclocking, so it'd be fine to stick with it.

Also if your using the computer for gaming I'd highly recommend you get 64bit version of windows.

I'd stick away from the cooler, and just see what it runs like with stock cooling.

The CPU is pre-overclocked. I linked the "package" link at the bottom of my post. It also includes the Cooler in the price with a option of 3. I just selected the non-extra costing one . I think the CPU overclocked is profile selected. Meaning I can turn it on and off? thanks for the recommendation on the WD. I have now gone with the Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache

Can you briefly explain to me why a 64bit? I've heard that there are issues with programs incompatible and issues, thanks.

There typically aren't any issues with drivers, however if you've done your research on programs you need to use that don't support 64 bit, then you were correct in choosing 32 bit. Sorry for the confusion, my bad. My decision to go with 64 bit vs 32 bit is that if you find that 4GB of ram is limiting, you could upgrade (not likely though because 4GB is plenty for most programs).

Nice hard drive you selected

4GB ram is plenty for gaming. the i5 is also plenty.

64bit OS = the way to go. I have 'heard' of these problems in the past, but to be honest, i have never had an issue. if a program is not built on a 64bit architecture, it will simply run in 32 bit mode.

that package deal looks interesting.... you will have to tell us how it goes.

Seems like alot of people Recommend 64bit, I took a look at some benchmarks and on most of them (different games) 32bit won by minor difference.

I intend on hopefully later crossfiring the graphics cards, boost top end performance. MB is capable of 16GB of RAM so can easily upgrade. I'm just concerned on the temperatures, the case has 3/4 built in fans and with the CPU cooler; hopefully it won't be a problem.
