First time builder

Hi all,
First of all I wanted to say thanks for the forum, I'm a first time builder and its been a lot of help with my research. The computer I'm looking to build will mostly be used for gaming (mostly MMOs, League of Legends, and SC2 for now). I'm hoping to spend around a thousand on it, but I'm somewhat flexible.

I've been able to find some decent deals on newegg so I'm at $635 with my processor and case bundled.

The list so far:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
Antec Nine Hundred Two Black Steel ATX Mid Tower
CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply
CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
ASUS EAH5830 DIRECTCU/2DIS/1GD5 Radeon HD 5830 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP

I'm open to changing things, though I'm leaning towards AMD, and I would love any suggestions. My main sticking point so far has been deciding on a motherboard, as my friends disagree over what I should be looking for. I'm also not 100% on how much I should be spending on a graphics card.

Any help you guys could give would be greatly appreciated, I'm having a lot of fun doing this, but the choices are getting a bit overwhelming.

Thanks
-Mal

I would choose this ASUS M4A87TD EVO.
Don't forget to factor in the OS into your budget.

that is a really good mobo for a single gpu setup, it maximizes sata 6gbps and usb 3 availablility. couple in some good 1333 ram and you should be quite happy with the setup.

Thanks for the help all, that motherboard looks great. I would have gotten back to you earlier but my new dog ate the cords off my router this morning. Not pleased.

hmm, my cats have a tendency to do that once in a while... never had a dog chew up wires though, just the doghouse we built... he ate it...
