i7-950 is not compatible with the p55 chipset. Asus is recommended over Gigabyte.
The 1200W power supply is beyond overkill. A 550W is more than enough. Is this some kind of passive advertising for Microcenter? ![]() That Seagate hard drive is out of style and Seagate has issues with firmware we would recommend a WD Green for this application, 500GB is a little too small for a video editing rig this here would be a better choice Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

DO NOT BUY A BFG POWER SUPPLY. There is no warranty or support, the company is out of business.
Get an Asus P7P55D-E Pro and an i7-870. Why are you thinking of multiple video cards? Is this machine also going to be a gamer? The hard drive you want is one of the WD Black SATA 6.0 drives. |
