Get the P7P55D-E for SATA 6 and USB 3. No need to get the Pro board if you won't be using 22 video cards in SLI or Crossfire.

Get the i5-760, it's only 10 bucks more.

Get one of the WD Black SATA 6 drives.

Save some money and get standard 1.5 volt DDR3-1333 ram.

650 watts is more than you need with that video card but it's fine.

Final i7 Build

Hello, i have been doing alot of messing around with newegg recently and trying to find parts and research them. I think i have found a decent mixture of what i want would like some feedback. I think this could be my finalized version unless someone else see's flaws..

It took me awhile to go through and i been debating the i5 vs the i7 and i decided to go with the i7 to try and future proof this system since later on down the road i don't want to be kicking myself for not upgrading when i had the chance. So here we go!

A few things i do realize...i know i could have upgraded the i7 to the 950 but decided that i probably won't upgrade for another 5 years anyways and by then we might be dealing with some new technology anyways. not looking to be to high end just enough so i won't have to worry about upgrading much beside the video card.

Also if anyone knows is it worth it to go with the new sata 3 hard drive or should i have just went with sata 2? I am pretty set on the case and the OS the mobo looked decent and i also am set on not doing sli so the pci in the middle of the sli setup won't really affect me.

any other thoughts and feedback appreciated thanks in advanced!

1. Please don't start new threads on the same build - threads merged.

2. Did you read my recommendations in my original reply?

Please note that we do NOT recommend the X58/socket 1366 platform for both cost and stability reasons.

Sorry i thought since it was a new build that i had to do a new post >.< and yes i did. also then does the 1156 sockets support the hyperthreading? i thought you needed a 1366 for that from the i7's and any recommendations on boards then? i kind of fell in love with the sabertooth

hyperthreading has been suported since 775 afaik, and that is a cpu function.

if you want an i7, go with the 8xx series on the 1156 socket. cheaper and much more stable.

heres your new sabretooth

The i-7 870, LGA 1156 supports hyper-threading. It's at a good price point. I would go with that one.

This is a Socket 1156 board.
