what is the purpose of this machine? as a home theater pc, gamer? the bluray drive says htpc, but we cant be certain =D

You can cut the fan unless you plan on overclocking which is not recommended for brand new computers until you actually see where it stands as far as performance. This is mainly due to a significant loss in life span for the processor. Also you could probably try this ram and save a little

Don't know why I didn't see this earlier but if you switched to this PSU, you could save some more money and have plenty of expansion for any single graphics card on the market.
Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply Also for some reason the 650 watt model is cheaper than the 550....GO FOR IT

okay here is my final build. i see no need for a blu ray burner rightnow... i have a feeling that they will be better and cheaper in 6 months. thanx again for your input.
