New AMD build
I’m planning an AMD build and trying to stay around $600 for the components listed below including Win 7. I’ll use this computer just for internet, music- through my home theater system, normal office applications, some movie editing, and some light CAD work. I already have these components from trying to fix my old system- these are both brand new and won’t be included in the build price-
PSU- SeaSonic 520 Bronze Newegg.com - SeaSonic S12II 520 Bronze 520W ATX12V V2.3 / EPS 12V V2.91 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply HDD- WD Black 500GB Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive Already have a 24” sammy monitor but will also connect to my TV through HDMI. Not sure if I need to go quad core, but not against doing it. So I could use some help with the MB/CPU- don’t want onboard video, but would like e-sata connection, but I do need a firewire connection onboard. Weather choosing the dual or quad core CPU’s, it seems that it’s usually the same model MB- I checked Asus and MSI and it seems that AMD recommends the same models regardless dual or quad core. So do I save a few bucks with the dual core and spend a little more on the MB? Here’s what I’ve got so far- Case- Antec 300- I like the amount of cooling because the computer will be in an enclosed cabinet- Newegg.com - Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case VGC- Radeon HD 5670 (Redwood) 1GB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100289L Radeon HD 5670 (Redwood) 1GB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ATI Eyefinity RAM- Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Newegg.com - Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model KVR1333D3N9K2/4G DVD- LITE-ON Black Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA 24X DVD Writer LightScribe Support OS- Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - Operating Systems Just need the CPU/MB and I'll be building in no time- thanks- |

If you went with this ram you could save around $14 + $10 mail in rebate
Newegg.com - Mushkin Enhanced Essentials 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model 996586 This is the cheapest, most reliable board I could find that still had an e-sata +firewire ports. Asus M4A79XTD EVO 790X Athlon II X4 640 propus total ~$500

you do not need a PSU or a HDD, so that does help alot. as far as useage, what will the purpose of this machine be? general use (websurfing office programs etc) game or HTPC type?
600 bucks can build a nice amd machine since you already have those 2 components. but i'm hesitant to list a build until i know more.
