First Time Building A Computer

I'm planning on building a gaming computer within the next month. I have a budget of ~$1200. I will be using newegg.ca. I have put together some parts.

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two

PSU: Corsair CMPU 750TX

CPU: Intel i5-760

Motherboard: ASUS P7P55D-E Pro

Video Card: HIS Radeon HD 6870

Ram: A-Data 4GB (2x2GB) 240-pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD 1002FAEX 1TB

Optical Drive: Lite-On Black

The total with shipping works out to $1160

If someone has any suggestions to improve the build it would be appreciated.

someone has definately done their homework. good picks all around, just one comment.

the 6870 card you picked is about on par performance wise as a 5850 or a gtx 460, just noting. good card still, i just hope your not falling into the change in the amd/ati namescheme thinking its the new best of the best card out there.

also, were you planning on going xfire in the future? if so, you may want to look into the power reqs for all your components to make sure 750 will be enough to support it. i say this because of your mobo choice.

I do realize that the 6870 is on par with the 5850. I picked the 6870 since it's slightly cheaper. I might go xfire in the future but I'm not sure on how to tell how large of a power supply it would need.

2 6870's in Crossfire require a minimum of a 600 watt PSU with four 6 pin PCI-E connectors. The 750TX meets specs.
