New Build

Hey guys, working on building my first comp which will mainly be used for alot of video work and some decent gaming. Just wanted some opinions on compatibility and performance from the listed parts, thanks.

Case: Amazon.com: Cooler Master HAF 932 High Air Flow ATX Full Tower Case Black - (RC-932-KKN1-GP): Computer & Accessories: Reviews, Prices & more

Motherboard: Newegg.com - ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 AMD Motherboard

CPU: Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX

PSU: Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

HDD: Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Disc Drive: Newegg.com - LG WH10LS30K 10X Blu-ray Burner - LightScribe Support - Bulk - Blu-Ray Burners

As for the graphics card, im either gonna go with this one:
Asus EAH5770CuCore/2DI/1G Radeon HD 5770 Video Card - 1GB GDDR5, PCI-Express 2.0, CrossFireX Ready, DVI, VGA, HDMI at TigerDirect.com

or this one: Newegg.com - ASUS EAH5850 DirectCU TOP/2DIS/1GD5 Radeon HD 5850 (Cypress Pro) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card w/ ATI Eyefinity

i want to hook up both my monitor and my HDTV to it so im hoping one of those can do such. thanks.

The new 6870 is a better gaming video card than the 5850. If you can't afford it, get a 6850. They are tied for the best in their price ranges with the Nvidia 4xx competitors.

you mean this card?
Newegg.com - ASUS EAH6850 DirectCU/2DIS/1GD5 Radeon HD 6850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

or this?
Newegg.com - ASUS EAH6870/2DI2S/1GD5 Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity

and if so would that be any better with hd video (Blu-ray ripping/burning/watching/etc) as well? bear with me, im fairly new at this.

Either one would be fine, the 6870 is a stronger gamer. They both have all the bells and whistles to handle any kind of video.

alright then, 6870 it is then, its cheaper than the one i had originally, go figure, and theres no restrictions as to what graphics card i use on the motherboard is there? but other than that, the computer should do what i want it to right?

Send a message via Skype™ to Nikon
you can put any single graphics card onto any mobo with the correct matching slot (PCIe x16)
