Hey all need some help
so Im building my fiance a new system and Im getting no video or no beeps when I power up, all of the fans are working.
This is a list of components: ASUS M4A88T-M/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G HDMI USB 3.0 Micro ATX AMD Motherboard AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ965FBGMBOX VGA XFX|HD-575X-ZNFC HD5750 RT Corsair - 4GB DDR3 DIMM Desktop Memory Model: CMXG4GX3M2A1600C9 right now I am using an older PSU which is 500 WATTS until I can get her a bigger one. ( used an old PSU from old build I had lying about ) I think maybe either my RAM is not compatible or my PSU is not powerful enough. Could you guys please take a look and tell when what you may think I need to do. I have tried with and without the video card, reseated the sticks the video card etc.. Im at a loss any help is much appreciated |

PROBLEMS with a NEW BUILD? Try This!!
Try it with the onboard video. Make sure the CPU connector from the PSU is connected to the motherboard - if it's an 8 pin connector, you need a PSU with an 8 pin cable. Note that this procedure is done with the mobo OUT of the case. |

Did you try it with the motherboard out of the case with minimum components as described in the thread?

Can you borrow another power supply for testing?
Just curious - why only a single ram module? That's a dual channel motherboard and works best with paired memory. |

Ive had the same problem and this is what I did.
Make sure you unplug everything out of the motherboard leaving only the processor. Install only one stick of ram ( Make sure that u plug it into the one that says DIMM A1 ( which is the first blue on ur board ) then plug in the mobo 24 pin connector and the 4 pin connector for the CPU. Plug in ur cable to the integrated video and start the pc... it should give u an image with a fatal error. If it doesnt give u any signal after that try a diff ram stick. if you try multiple sticks and still no signal either the mobo or CPU are having a problem. if it does give u signal then turn off the pc and plug in hard drive and DVD drive, then try again. PS. Make sure that the memory u got is the right one for ur mobo http://www.corsair.com/ Last edited by asielcs; 11-10-2010 at 06:20 PM. |

Pull the CMOS battery, wait a minute, reinsert it and then try.
