Question: MB/Proc/RAM Upgrade

It has been awhile since I have built/upgraded my computer. I scored a free retail version of Windows7 Ultimate 64bit. I would like to make full use of the new OS including 6 or more GB of RAM. Plus I would like to run some newer games (Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Civilization 5). I have a budget of $600 and would really like an Intel i7 proc.

I saw the below deal from newegg.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDeal ... mbo.540792

Granted I don't think I need the case, but would this make a good deal or bases for a gaming box?

Thanks!

Current System Bolded items I will be reusing in new gaming rig.

even the lowest of the i7s will consume 1/2 of your budget. not too much of a problem if the only things you need are mobo/cpu/ram BUT:

i feel as though your videocard will not be able to handle the newest games with any kind of quality.

your link does not work, so i cannot comment.
6gb of ram in unnecessary unless you are running apps that will actually use that much. 4gb is plenty for gaming.
all comments aside, and based on what you asked for i would suggest these parts:

intel i7-870
asus p7p55d-e
2x2gb ddr3 1333mhz 1.5v ram from a-data, corsair,crucial,kingston most are right around 100 bucks.

For a budget gamer, you want to sink a higher percentage of your budget into your graphics card and less into your CPU. Your graphics card will have greatest influence on your computers ability to play games at decent resolutions, frame rates and game settings.

To be right upfront, you may be quite disappointed with a $600 gaming computer. Eight hundred to one thousand dollars is pretty much considered the bare minimum. Instead of buying now you may want to keep saving your money. The good news is you are almost there.

Keep the motherboard, get a new video card, and if you really want it, another 4gb of ram. You can also upgrade the processor to a Q6600 if you want a quad, or a E8xxx series dual core if you just want something faster.

The Intel E8500 makes an Awesome Gaming Processor, upgrading the Video card even without upgrading your CPU will give you a massive boost in gaming performance. With your motherboard you definately want to stay with an Nvidia video card. If you decide to upgrade to an Nvidia 400 or 500 series and keepyour current motherboard make sure and contact Evga and have them help you upgrade your motherboard bios to latest version, they can be tedious and a nightmare to upgrade!
You can upgrade your Ram however I dobut you will ever tap more than 4GB running games.
