Making sure PSU is good to go

Hello,
Building a new rig (1st in a while)
Wondering if my PSU is adequete?

Specs are this:
CPU: AMD X6 1075T
Mobo: ASUS M4A89GTD PRO USB3
RAM: G Skill 2x2G 1600 DDR3
SSD: OCZ Vertex 2 60G
HDD: Samsung F4 2TB
SATA DVD RW

PSU: Corsair TX650W

I have one in one of my other builds and it has been solid. I am not a gamer and will not add avideo card for crossfire. The only things I will add down the road is RAM and HDDs. I felt like this would be enough. Can some one confirm this.
Thanks this site is great

P.S.
I am giddy right now seeing how this cost me about $750 to build

That PSU is an excellent one and is good for powering any single graphics card out there.

If you haven't bought that hard drive yet, I'd recommend a WD, not a Samsung. I'd also recommend you stay away from G.skill ram right now, quality issues.

If you are using onboard video and are not going to be putting a video card in there, that power supply is way overkill. Get one of the smaller Antec earthwatts units - a 430 is plenty.

Newegg.com - Antec EarthWatts Green EA-430D Green 430W Continuous power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS 12V 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

After all the problems with G.Skill memory in my build, I have made it a point to warn people when it is brought up (even if someone already has). I also have made a decision to never buy their products even if they supposedly get their issues taken care of (at least as long as there are other alternatives that are not worse). Getting their memory cost me time, hassle, money etc.

Thanks for the swift replies. All is bought and sitting in my living room. Just double checking before I install. I figured the PSU would be fine just making sure.

What issues is G Skill having? I usually buy my stuff off the egg since I can read so many user reviews and out of about 1000 reviews about 870 had no problems with this memory what so ever. There were only about 75 that seemed to have major issues many being DOA which I feel seems to happen to quite a bit of Hardware these days.

Edit: It seems that it is a compatibility issue with ASUS Mobo? I have heard that it might be a problem with the ASUS BIOS and the way it controls the memory. So do I wait for a BIOS update or should I just send the memory back and get something different? Funny more people wouldn't have commented on this in the egg

glc, which WD HDD do you recommend? The Cavier Green?

I am not to loyal to a brand as I have always used WD, Seagate, and Samsung. I have been blessed with never having a DOA or one fail ever and since the Samsung was cheap and with good reviews both on Newegg and off I went for it. I have a Spinpoint 500G as my boot drive right now and it has been flawless.

Thanks again

For a 2TB storage drive, I prefer the Green simply from a price standpoint. The EARS drive at 100 bucks is a particularly good deal, just be advised it's an advanced format drive and should only be used with Windows 7.

I was trying to subtly steer him away from SSDs.

Yikes the G skill problems with ASUS sounds horrible. Now that this thread is off topic any ideas on RAM

I was looking at this:

ADATA
Newegg.com - A-DATA Gaming Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model AX3U1600GB2G9-2G

Or this Corsair:
Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX4GX3M2A1600C9

Don't know if it matters that the corsair says it is good for intel, does that mean bad for AMD, but reviews said it worked fine with AMD

Other suggestions would be fine

Nuc why no SSD? I have read many great things about using them as a boot and App drive.

glc, unless the Samsung fails I will probably go with it, but a future question. If I want to set up a RAID 1 with two drives can they be from different companies?

Thanks and sorry this is now derailed. Biggest question is the RAM though.

yourrealdad, SSDs are not yet entirely reliable: they have firmware issues. Not trying to say they totally suck or anything, but until the manufacturers stop using customers as beta testers, I'd keep any data I value off an SSD. Also, they are still too expensive in terms of GB:dollar ratio.

Corsair is good. I don't know what they mean by "it's good for Intel". It should work with both platforms.

Either set of ram should work fine. ANY time you use RAID, you SHOULD use identical drives.
