Need help from a professional

Here's the deal, I have an asus m5640 desktop pc that i want to turn into a gaming pc. I have a very low budget for it and i want to know if it's even worth upgrading given the high spec required to play good games in decent video quality. Here are the specs:

intel core 2 duo
2gb ddr2 memory
250Gb Hdd
industry standard 300 watt power supply
Integrated NVIDIA® GeForce® 7100 graphics solution

Leave this one as is and start saving up for a new machine.
You'd need a new power supply, more ram, and a decent video card and it won't work if your budget is as tight as you've indicated.

Figure on around $1000 for a budget gamer.
