Hey everyone!! Haven't asked for advise for a long time here on PCMech!!! But alas, I'm HERE when I have a question, not on one of those "other" sites
This is, and forever will be THE place to come for help with PC's!So, I haven't built a new build based on others advice in a while. Mostly just do my own research and such. I'm in a spot atm where I'm unsure of some of the nuances with the new hardware. Namely the i7 i5 CPU's, and weather or not it's really good to go with SSD or stick to a fast 10k HDD. Also, new chipsets... ![]() I'm looking to build a rig mostly for gaming, but all in all for future proofing and making sure I don't need to upgrade it for many years to come! I know there are always those diamonds in the rough, and best bang for your buck types of hardware, and I guess that's really why I'm here So if anyone is interested, I would like to hear your thoughts on what you would do if building a new machine, with a budget of about $1500. If it goes over a little, ok. Under a little, ok. Just let me know why you chose to do it that way. I need an entire tower. Monitor keyboard and mouse are not needed. ![]() Thanx in advance for any suggestions!!! CPU: MOBO: HDD/SSD: RAM: GRAPHICSCARD(S): CASE: PSU: BURNER: SOUNDCARD: MISC, (Fans, Heatsinks, etc...):

Nice build glc
I'm thinking of getting a SSD for the OS drive as well. Any recommendations? Also, would you recommend dual graphics cards? Which work best together? Thank you for all your help!! |

A single 6870 should serve your needs for quite a while. However, if you think you might want to add a second one, upgrade the PSU to the 750TX.
I'm not on the SSD bandwagon, sorry. If you want one, get an Intel or maybe a Crucial SATA 6.0. |
