Feedback for First Time Build

Hello all,

I've been reading up on building your own computer for some time right now and I think I'm getting close to being able to actually build a pc, but I would like some feedback on my hardware choices before I go any further.

My goal is to build a budget gaming pc that has room for future upgrades.

Here is my build thus far (not including mouse, keyboard etc.):

EDIT: The wishlink doesnt seem to work so here is the copy:

Stay away from G.skill memory for quality and compatibility reasons - we recommend Corsair, Crucial, Kingston, or A-Data.

as far as AMD mobos go, the best board (and my personal choice) would be the asus m4a89td, since you are getting a good graphics card anyways.

corsair powersupplies are amazing quality, but you may preferr the modular version. i got the 850tx, which i believe only has extra pci-e power, and have been having a rough time with all the wires. tons of connections... too many imo, but at the same time, i use many of them. (the extra wires on my psu are taking up an entire 3 drive bay of my antec 1200)

although this may not be the case for that particular psu, i just hope to help you avoid a similar problem, especially in a smaller case.

I make it a point to try to add my two cents in when G.Skill memory is mentioned. It caused me a ton of various problems on the build in my signature. Avoid it or I am afraid you will be sorry.

I chose an M4A785TD-V EVO for a few reasons:
- I wanted a solid board at a good price. I got mine for $70.00 CDN.
- I wanted a board that could unlock my Phenom II X2 555BE.

I got exactly what I wanted

As far as listing your build goes, just copy and paste the URL from the Newegg page into your post. The product description will show.

I would go with the Western Digital Caviar Black hard drives. 5 year warranty, reliable.

a note on that unlocking: the cpu may/may not still function properly (or at all in some extreme cases) when attempting to unlock locked cores. extensive stability testing is required when doing this, and afaik, like an overclock, an unlocked cpu will become locked again when placed on a different mobo.
