School work build
So I'm building a rig for my little cousin for school work. This would be my third build. I wasn't given a budget, but I'd like to keep it low (the kids is 9). I've managed to choose the following parts for around $500, including monitor, k & m, and speakers. The a-data memory wasn't in the motherboard compatibility list (same thing with my first build, which worked just fine). If you guys think this might be a problem suggestions are welcome. And I'd like to know if the chosen power supply will be enough
thanks any help/suggestions are appreciated Motherboard; ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO Newegg.com - ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard Memory: A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Newegg.com - A-DATA 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model AD3U1333B2G9-DRH PSU: Antec Basiq BP350 350W ATX12V v2.01 Newegg.com - Antec Basiq BP350 350W ATX12V v2.01 Power Supply CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz Newegg.com - AMD Athlon II X3 450 Rana 3.2GHz 3 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor ADX450WFGMBOX HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive burner: LITE-ON Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA CD/DVD Burner - Bulk - CD / DVD Burners speakers Logitech S120 Newegg.com - Logitech S120 2.3 Watts (RMS) 2.0 Speaker System - Speakers k + m Logitech MK120 Black USB Wired Slim Desktop Newegg.com - Logitech MK120 Black USB Wired Slim Desktop monitor: ASUS VW193DR Newegg.com - ASUS VW193DR Black 19" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 50000 :1 (ASCR) |

Don't see an OS listed. That will add about $100 for Win7 Home.
Also don't see a case listed.

If you ever plan on adding a video card, you need a stronger power supply.

You NEED to plan for a graphics card. When I was about 8(im 14 now and have done 5 builds/rebuilds.) my bro built his own computer and later decided he wanted to do some gaming got a card put it in and then discovered he needed a new PSU and had to go spend another $60 and deal with rewiring. Its better to get the extra power now rather then later.

A quality 650 watt PSU will cover any single card out there.
