The best video cards in the $250 bracket are the 6870 and GTX470. The 6870 uses a lot less power and runs cooler.
Newegg.com - HIS H687F1G2M Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card with Eyefinity Newegg.com - ASUS ENGTX470/2DI/1280MD5/V2 GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card The rest of the build is essentially perfect. |

What's your opinion of this card. It seems to be pretty popular. But some say it can get pretty hot.
Newegg.com - EVGA 012-P3-1470-AR GeForce GTX 470 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card Would there be heat issues with the the setup I have planned? Or Would I be better off going with the 6870 you recomended. Thanks again Last edited by Scotty905; 12-31-2010 at 05:15 PM. |

It's not so much a heat issues inside the case as it is having a PSU that is powerful enough. The other issue is the wasting of energy. The PSU you chose will power the 470. The case you chose has good enough ventilation.
