What do you think you're mom is going to use this PC for?
If she's not gaming, integrated graphics should be fine. If she's not editing video, get the Intel E8400 instead.

The PC will be used for standard things, e-mail, word, internet, and things of that sort.
Not gaming so no video card? and might do some video editing. |

Well you're missing some components, namely a power supply and some RAM.
I'd also suggest using an LGA 1156 socket motherboard and an i3-540. Much better processor and would save you about 60 bucks from the CPU alone. An Antec earthwatts 430W should be plenty. As for RAM, some 4GB of any Corsair DDR3 to go along with the i3 would do just nicely. (sorry I didn't provide any links, it's very late over here )

If you live near a CompUSA store you can get an I3-550 for $130 and pick up a free motherboard. I chose the Asus P7H55-M LE.
It's a walk-in deal only, as they are trying to build up traffic to their newly opened stores. |

Some video editing as in which program are you going to use for that? Onboard video should be fine unless you're running something heavy such as Premiere. Another thing you can do is buy a mobo with a PCI-X slot so that you can add a video card later in case the onboard is found wanting.
*Just noticed, the mobo G chose already has such slot, so you're all set.

Why are you ignoring my motherboard suggestion? Along with the i3, it has very good onboard video and you don't need a video card for that use. The 9500GT is an old cheap card anyway. Save your money! If you ever find that you DO need a video card, it DOES have a slot. I also recommended the Black series hard drive from both a speed and warranty standpoint.

Just factor in the cost of the OS and you're good to go. Windows 7 HP should be about 100 smackers.

Excellent!
Now - Newegg's prices change frequently. When I originally posted, the i3-540 and i3-550 were the same price. Now, you can save $10 with the 540. I don't think that the normal user would notice any difference. |

Bought two of these monitors and wanted to split the screen between the two with this cable. Not sure exactly what I need to do for the computer to separate the image. Here is the cable I also purchased to connect the monitors. Suggestions?

You can't split a screen like that. Use separate cables for each monitor and use the Windows dual display ability to extend your desktop onto the second monitor. You have 3 jacks for monitors - VGA, DVI, and HDMI - you can use any 2 of them if I'm not mistaken.
