first build...need help.

Hey guys, so I got the parts for my first build and assembled it all today.

After making all connections and checking everything 100 times over, I went to power it up. When I did I got no video display on my monitor and no beeps to indicate what might be wrong. I shut it off and opened up the case. With the case open I turned it on again, everything appears to be working, the fans spin, my dvd drive opens and closes, but still no display, and no beeps. I did however notice that there is a red LED light on my motherboard that flashes when i turned on the system. There is 3 indicators for CPU, RAM and VGA, 2 of which flash. when the light comes on with the system power, it flashes for a moment on the CPU light, and then flashes once on the RAM light. It then stays lit up on the RAM light and continues to hold until i turn the system off. I'm thinking it might be an issue with my RAM, since the light is staying on that and not moving on to VGA. I tried taking out and reseating the chips, and even switching them to other chips but the problem persists. if anyone has any info or can help, i'd appreciate it. thank you.

my MOBO is an ASUS Crosshair IV formula
and my RAM is Corsair XMS3 2x 2gb ddr3.

I've already read that. after checking around online i've seen that others have had the same issue with this mobo and memory sticks. It has to do with the mobo not recognizing the sticks, no matter the configuration i put them in. I have no clue what to do from here though. I cleared the CMOS, I ran the mobo through its "MemOK' function, and still nothing works.

Do you have the 8 pin EATX connector plugged in?
