lets try this again ... new build v2
So after some advice and a little waiting, i've changed around my build somewhat. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
so far I've come up with: Antec nine hundred Antec TruePower New TP-750 Blue 750W Continuous Power Core i7 2600k LGA 1155 COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 P8P67 Deluxe LGA 1155 P67 ATX Intel Motherboard CORSAIR XMS 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Intel SSD - 120GB Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" LITE-ON Black 8X BD-ROM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-ROM EVGA 012-P3-1570-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) ASUS VH232H Glossy Black 23" 5ms Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD Monitor Windows 7 home premium My main questions: 1) video card - i know nearly nothing about the different options out there. my gaming is limited on the PC but i definitely want the ability to play Diablo 3 when it comes out and have it look amazing 2) SSD boot drive - how much space do i really need? 3) the monitor - i'm planning on trying to get 2 monitors for a dual screen setup, is the above a good choice? also, the only item i already own above is the Antec case so that won't be changing. everything else is up for discussion. any all and all thoughts greatly appreciated! |

The 120gig SSD is about right for an OS and apps.
Asus monitors are good monitors. I'll wait until a video card person chimes in with your card choice.

That is an awesome gaming video card, EVGA are good however Asus has much better customer support and I believe better cards.
I have yet to build a machine with an SD card that did not develop a problem within the first 90 days, the technology is just not there yet. I would say if you must go SSD Intel is your best choice but for reliability I would go with a WD Black like this one Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD6402AAEX 640GB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
