New member and new byoc

Hi All. New to the site and first time builder of my own computer. My system includes:

HEC Blitz ATX Mid Tower case
HEC X-Power Pro 650W PSU
ASUS P6X58D Premium mobo
Intel i7-960 processor
Corsair Vengence 12GB 1600 MHz ram
ATI FirePro 2450 Multi-view graphics card
LG 24x DVD burner
WD Caviar Black 1 TB 6.0Gb/s drive
Windows Home Premium 64-bit

Was able to purchase mobo, processor and grahics card on eBay. Rest of components thru Newegg.

Just finished assembly and experiencing problems with the system starting up. Got power to everything, but getting ram error from the mobo.

I look forward to exchanging ideas and getting input from all of you experienced techs out there! Hopefully I will gain some of that knowledge and be able to pass it along to others, too.

Joe

You either have defective ram or a defective motherboard. Try it with one ram stick at a time.
