Need check on this budget build
One of our secretaries asked if I'd build her a computer (cuz she remembers me braggin' about building a couple way back when.... w/ pcmech's help of course). She needs everything. All her family does is internet, picture stuff, i-tunes, and some light web-based gaming. She wanted to stay at $800. I went a little over. What do you guys think of this build:

im not sure so if im wrong someone correct me if i am but i think you could get away with this power supply Newegg.com - Antec NEO ECO 620C 620W Continuous Power ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Power Supply not sure if its cheaper tho.

I'm sorry I didn't post individual prices. The Corsair, with instant and mail-in rebate, came to only 69 bucks and free shipping. I thought for this particular Corsair at that price...and as their son gets a little older and wants to play games which need a video card, this is a good buy. Otherwise I'd drop down to the 380w Antec for 45 bucks.

You picked a Gigabyte Micro ATX board. You may want to pick a standard sized Asus 1156 board with a P55 chipset.
A 650 watt PSU will power almost all of the graphics cards out there. Depending on the card, you might get away with less. With an $800 price limit I would consider one of the budget Antecs.

I thought micro would be fine given the price. Any reason for your not recommending a micro? The Asus P55's in the reg. ATX form factor pushed the price up.

A micro will fit and work. I just think it's easier working with the larger boards.

Stick with the Corsair power supply if you anticipate adding a video card later.
David, the full size boards don't support onboard video - he needs an H55 board. I have no problems with that Gigabyte. Asus 1156 boards are pretty slim pickings at Newegg right now. |

Thanks for the help guys!!!
Does anyone have experience with this case? I hope it isn't too cheapy looking and feeling. It seems to be highly rated and popular. |

That's a very nice case for the price. Antec doesn't make any shoddy cases.
