That's a big budget. Do you want it to add up to that much or would a really kick ass gamer that is less expensive work for you?
With your budget you could do multiple monitors. Does that interest you? You would need a graphics card(s) that is capable of that.

the main use is gonna be gaming, im already have a 6.1 sound systeme and i want to hook my pc to it. i already have a blu ray for my tv so i have no need for it on my computer. for ssd i not familiar with it at all (do they really worth it?)if it not realy worth it im down with a regular good hard drive (like 1tb) .i love to do mutiple task, have lot of thing open in same time like watching a movies from my pc to my tv while playing a game on my other monitor for exemple, i think i will need lot of memory but even memory im not sure what compatible.i use ddr2 on my old pc and i think now is ddr3 but im not sure what memory fix with what mother board
thx a lot for the help |

Considering your budget id say 12GB of Ram couldnt hurt, itll probly be excess but its not that much more than 8. Depending on the Mobo id assume its gunna be dual channel, and youll probably wanna run either 1333 or 1600 speed. SSDs i cant really input on, never owned one, but they are supposedly a lot faster. Your CPU will definately allow you to multitask. Other than that im at the end of my knowledge, wait till one of the pros get in here to help ya.

You don't need to spend anywhere near that much, and a 980x is major overkill. For high end gaming, the video card is a lot more important than the CPU.
Wait till the Sandy Bridge bug is fixed, then get an Asus Sabertooth P67 board and an i7-2600 processor. |

Are there any games today that even use 6 cores? 6 core games might be 10 years out? Maybe I'm wrong, when I looked over the list of games I play, not one used over 3 cores, and most used 2.
