Hello all, ready to build another one for a brother.budget is same as above-$642.00 or less. Just for basic use ,email, internet, word processing, burning, playing music, gaming is not a factor. This will be a complete system with monitor, speakers, keybaord and mouse and no reuse parts.
I like the above configuration except that I prefer to go the Intel route and if possible a motherboard with onboard video and an option for video card should in case the onboard video fail.A card reader will also be nice.If it's all possible, and this budget allows it,this will be nice...http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119137

I appreciate your help reconfigiring the above to fit his needs or if a a new configuration would be better? Thanks.

That system without the video card will fill your needs. It has onboard video. However, if you want a stronger processor, you can get this:

Newegg.com - Intel Core i3-550 Clarkdale 3.2GHz 4MB L3 Cache LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor BX80616I3550

Your budget will allow for that case.

Card reader:

Newegg.com - Rosewill RCR-IC001 40-in-1 USB 2.0 3.5" Internal Card Reader w/ USB Port / Extra Silver Face Plate

Much appreciated your help always, however, reading the details and the overview of the board, it says 'Onboard Video Chipset- None':

Newegg.com - ASUS P7H55-M LX LGA 1156 Intel H55 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Does that mean no onboard video? What does that mean?confused: Thanks.

It DOES have onboard video. Intel's H55 chipset has the video integrated (think of it as already contained in the north bridge), and so it doesn't need a 3rd party video chip. That's what they must mean by 'Onboard Video Chipset- None'.

The onboard video is actually in the Clarkdale core CPU. The H55 boards are required simply to provide a conduit.

If you read the board details, you will see that it has a D-sub (VGA) and DVI jack.

Thanks, you know, now that you mentioned the board details,I read them but failed to make the connection about the D-sub (VGA) and DVI jack.

I forgot to mention OS in the configuration, hence the budget is now $100 over.

Probably is dealing with too much snow/weather in New York making me weary

Thanks again.
