Maybe, which brand and model is your PSU? If it is a quality PSU then probably yes since the minimum requirement according to Nvidia is 550 watts. But then there are also junk PSU's that are incapable of sustaining what they claim.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/product...tx-465-us.html Click on Specifications.

Quality PSU's....
What Power Supply should I get? How many Watts? Who made it? Guide Inside.

Send a message via Skype™ to Nikon
if you havent purchased th videocard yet, there are more powerful ones that are easier on your PSU in the same price range, even cheaper in some cases.

also, as stats above, quality of the psu will be the determining factor. even though it claims 600w of power, running that close to the max will reduce the life of the part, and make it harder on the system in general.

Ahh perfect. I have an OCZ Silent Series I believe. What would be a better card? I plan on buying a new gpu, cpu, mb, and ram march/april i think. My only concern is I'm revamping my system for BF3 but I feel like I should wait til sept/oct so I can get the latest stuff for a decent price. BF3 comes out fall of 2011 fyi.

If your present system gets the job done, you should wait.

The GTX465 was never a very good card - the early Fermis were underpowered, hot running, and power hogs.

My current pc isn't that bad. I wanted to get Bad Company 2 for the pc and Total War Shogun 2 but I don't know if a dual core can handle it.
My current setup is:
600w psu
3gb ddr2 (forgot speed)
amd 64 x2 6000+ 3ghz
and a dead 8800gt

so should i just buy a cheap($100) video card to hold me over?
-thanks

You could buy a good video card now and use that as the basis for a later motherboard/ram/CPU upgrade. A decent 600w should handle any single card out there.
