I have just discovered that no power has been connected to the ATX 12V power connector on the Motherboard, only to the 24 pin ATX Power connector. Does this mean there is no power getting to the CPU? The Motherboard manual does not mention either. I have tried connecting power from the PSU, but the leads are too short.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, there would be no power to the CPU.
you can buy the 8-pins ATX extension cable from almost all the computers shops for about $3~$5.
Newegg.com also have it, if you wanted to shop online.
