Swapping components to another case
I have an older model Sony Vaio desktop PC.
I would like to take the IDE hard drives (OS included) and re install them in another case. I will be using an Intel mother board (D955XBK) with the new case. I have all the other hardware that is compatible with the Intel MB. Mem, PS etc. I understand that the IDE Hard drives will have to have an adapter for the SATA inputs on the Intel mother board. Should I encounter any problems with this swap ? |

That motherboard has one IDE controller for 2 drives. You will not be able to use the Sony Windows preload.

Thanks
Also - just read some EULA agreements.
I can't transfer the OS to another PC. This is why I now build my own ! |
