Does all this seem ok?

Hey guys, first time building a computer, and really excited! I found all the parts I want after a few days of researching, but nonetheless I am a total noob (been a laptop guy for a looong time). So, I'm going to list the tentative parts, and I'd like if someone could check to see if it would work well or not. My main concern/grey area is with the Power Supply, which I hear is actually the most important part. And this will be intended for high-end gaming (if that helps)

CPU-i7 950 Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor BX80601950

Video Card- Geforce GTX 570 Newegg.com - EVGA 012-P3-1570-AR GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) 1280MB 320-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Motherboard- Asus Sabretooth X58 Newegg.com - ASUS Sabertooth X58 LGA 1366 Intel X58 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Hard Drive- Newegg.com - Western Digital Caviar Black WD5002AALX 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

RAM- DDR3 Newegg.com - Kingston HyperX T1 Series 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 Desktop Memory Model KHX1866C9D3T1K3/6GX

Monitor- Newegg.com - Acer G215HAbd-1 Black 21.5" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 ACM 50,000:1

Case- Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

Power Supply- Newegg.com - CORSAIR CMPSU-850TX 850W ATX12V 2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply

Is that enough Watts? Is it too much watts and would that matter? I'm so confused..

Thanks so much for the help!

I would go with this memory

CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
Newegg.com - CORSAIR XMS3 8GB (4 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMX8GX3M4A1600C9

This power supply will handle it

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Enthusiast Series CMPSU-650TX 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power Supply

I would not choose the socket 1366 board or CPU...too unstable.

Consider the Sandy Bridge and wait until April or you can buy a socket 1156 CPU and board right now, or consider an AMD build.

Hey, thanks for the help everyone! I'm not doubting anyone, but could you further explain some of these issues brought up?

-Why the 2 sticks of 4GB 1600 instead of 4 sticks of 2GB 1333 RAM? Is it so I have more room to upgrade in the future or something else?

-How much can I upgrade my build in the future if I have that 650W power supply?

-And what makes socket 1366 cpu/motherboard unstable?

Future upgrade room.

You can upgrade to any single video card made except possibly a 6990 dual GPU card.

The X58 chipset has never been stable and straightforward. It's for enthusiasts and experienced builders and doesn't really improve performance noticeably.

Hmmm ok. Well I'm going to actually buy the parts mid-May, so I guess I'll go with the 1155 sandy-bridge stuff. What comes out in April? Because I saw the 1155 motherboard and CPU on newegg already

It is estimated that the Sandy Bridge boards with the corrected chipset will be available in April.

If you are not going to buy till mid-May, there's no sense discussing details now. Things will be quite different then.
