1st Build and Need Some Advice
Hi guys,
So I'm getting set for my first build, and wanted to run my components past some experts to check it was all compatible and I won't be bottlenecked. I already have monitor, mouse/ keyboard and speakers. I'm aiming for around $1000, and something that will play decent games at my monitors recommended resolution (24' Acer LCD at 1920x1080). Also I wanted to use the i5 2500, so built around that. Finally, I'm in Australia so I'm expecting prices to be slightly higher than in the US. CPU: Intel i5 2500 $209 MB: GA-P67A-UD3P $170 RAM: Gskills Ripjaw DDR3 1333 2x2Gb $55 GFX: GeForce GTX 460 1 Gb $180 HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1Tb $57 Case: CoolerMaster RC690 $99 PSU: Corsair ATX 500W $80 ODD: Haven't really decided, just a DVD/CD RW combo $25 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit $119 TOTAL: $994 Any comments/ feedback/ adivce would be awesome!! Thanks in advance

That's a search engine, not a vendor. So - let's try this:
Asus P8P67 LE MB, Socket 1155, Intel P67 Chipset, 4x DDR3, SATA3, SATA2, ATA133, RAID, USB3.0, Firewire, 8CH Audio, GbLAN, CrossFire, ATX Corsair CMV4GX3M2A1333C9 4GB (2x 2Gb) (1333MHz) DDR3 Performance solution RAM, non-ECC, 2x240-pin DIMM, CAS 9-9-9-24, unbuffered, Western Digital WD10EALX CAVIAR BLUE/1TB/7200RPM/SATA3/32MB/3.5" 500W "Antec" EA-500D Green EarthWatts ATX Power Supply (No power cord included), 80 PLUS Bronze, 80mm fan, Dual 12V, 1x 6+2pin PCI-E, 1x 6pin PCI-E Lite-On IHAS324(BLACK) SPR ALLWRITE, DVD+-24X8X8/8X4, DVDRAM12X, CD48X32X48, SATA, RTL Chosen for reliability reasons based around your choices. There are improvements I would suggest, but they would hurt your budget. Last edited by glc; 03-23-2011 at 10:04 PM. |
