New Build Problems
I put my new build together and fired it up. I went through the bios setup and changed nothing but everything was recognized. I then put in the windows seven profesional disk to load the OS. it started and loading files and then all of the sudden I got the blue screen saying it was shutting down to protect the computer. I took out the OS disk and started computer again, it said it did not detect any hard drives. there are two in it, and when I go to the bios they both show up. Please help!

Disconnect the second hard drive until Windows is installed on the main drive. Go back into the bios, verify that the date and time is correct, and set the SATA controller to IDE mode. If you want to use AHCI or RAID mode, you have to install a driver by pressing F6 at the beginning of setup.

windows does start up and all seems well enough, i went into my computer and manage my computer and it identified the second hard drive, just at boot up there is a line saying no hard drive is detected, but it all works just fine so I think i will just leave well enough alone, is that ok or will there be problems down the line?

You didn't provide any specs, so this is a shot in the dark - you may have more than one SATA controller on the motherboard, and they each have their own bios. You will get that message until you turn off the ones that aren't being used in the main system bios.
