smokin Sanity & Compatibility Check

Alrighty, here's my system build. I already have an Asus Sabertooth P67 sitting next to me, so that will not be on the listing to buy, same with monitor/keyboard/mouse. This system will be for gaming, photo editing, movie editing, some work/school documentations, and general web-surfing. I was contimplating getting 2 570s in SLI, but the 580 will do just fine..plus 1 card has a less chance to fail than running 2 cards.

Case: Cooler Master Storm Scout $89.99
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Storm Scout SGC-2000-KKN1-GP Black Steel / Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

CPU: Intell core i7, 2600k $314.99
Newegg.com - Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

GPU: Asus GTX 580 $499.99
Newegg.com - ASUS ENGTX580 DCII/2DIS/1536MD5 GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

RAM: Corsair Vengence 8GB, PC3 12800 $99.99
Newegg.com - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B

PSU: Corsair HX Series Modular 650W $119.99
Newegg.com - CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-650HX 650W ATX12V v2.2 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular Active PFC Power Supply

DVD-ROM/Burner: Lite-On $`19.99
Newegg.com - LITE-ON Black 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 8X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 12X DVD-RAM 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM 2MB Cache SATA CD/DVD Burner - Bulk - CD / DVD Burners

OS: Win 7, 64-bit Home premium, OEM $99.99
Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 1-Pack for System Builders - Operating Systems

Future use will include some OC, so I'll pick up a good fan down the road. I may do some minor OC upon first use, but nothing that warrents an after-market heatsink/fan.

Total cost: $1307, not counting shipping.

Any critiques or improvements are welcome! Thanks

One change: Decided to go with a Lian Li case: Newegg.com - LIAN LI Lancool PC-K63 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

It is slightly more expensive, but has free shipping ATM. I liked the idea of it having a USB 3.0 port on it, as I'll be getting more external HDD and I'd like to use the faster interface.

Slowly putting this build together, I'm in no way rushed. Found a way to save a few bucks, got a Cooler Master case on order now. I was skeptical about new arrivals without reviews to give me any idea of quirks, but after searching other sites, this one has positive reviews and in depth assembly video's. Plus, it has USB 3.0 and doesn't have the firewire port on the front, which I never used.
Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Storm Enforcer SGC-1000-KWN1 Black SECC / ABS Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case ATX PS2 / EPS 12V (optional ) Power Supply

So far, i have the RAM, MB and now case..hoping the CPU/GPU drop in price some, but I'm happy to pay it when the time comes.

All parts are either in my office or on the way from Newegg. I forgot to include the CM 212 on my last order, and realized it later, hopefully it get packaged and handed over to UPS tonight, or else I'll have to wait to start until that arrives.

I've waited about 6-7 weeks since ordering my first parts until now, and while I have run the risk of a bad part exceeding the 30 day return to Newegg, I've saved about $100 from weekend sales from Newegg, and other components dropped $5-10 off original listings. I got deals on the 2600k, RAM, OS, & HDD.

After a few snagss with the memory not fully being seated, the system is up and running great. Only negative thing is the case's bays for the optical drive are a little insecure, the locking feature that is. So just hard mounted the CDROM normally. The tooless aspect of the HDD bays are great, nice and solid.

I havn't OC'd it yet, want to have some time to play with it. No issues at all with the new BIOS and the EVGA 570 is an awesome card.
