i would like to swap parts to be able to play crysis at its maximum

is it possible for me to keep the motherboard and chage the CPU, graphic card and ram to acheive something like a gaming PC?

according to your link you have 8 GB of ram which is fine. CPU is fine. Change the video card and power supply.

Do you have a budget?

Ya just change to a 650 watt PSU from corsair or antec (unless that case has a proprietary PSU) and depending on what resolution you will be gaming at a gtx 560-570 or equivalent ati card.

You may not even need to replace the PSU - that has a 460 watt. Other than the GT230, that's a good gaming machine. I don't think replacing the i7-920 would be anywhere near cost-effective for the minimal performance increase.

Yeah, I know Nvidia recommends a 500 watt unit for a 560, but I'd chance it - the major OEM's underrate their power supplies and the recommendation is based on a heavily loaded system. If it gets flaky, then upgrade.

Oh - Crysis on max? What's your upgrade budget?

Well i am not in the US, stumbled onthis forum while searching for help on google, but i would say i am able to invest 800 to 1000 US on this, i mean buy a gaming pc cost a lot more and i already have this one that works fine!

I can try with the power supply and the graphic card at first and go on to the other components a little later as it seems i have a weaker card than is recommended

Not looking for the most expensive on the market just want something that is more than enough for say future games, lol!

Thanks for the suggestions, now i have an idea of what i probably might need!

A GTX 560 will get very very close to maxing it out at that resolution. Just turn AA down to 4x instead of 8 and shaders and texture down to high instead of very high.
GeForce.com - Get the Most Out of Your GPU

A GTX 570 will max it out at 1080 and have some room to spare.

As for fitment, grab a tape measure and measure from the back panel where the graphics card mounts to the front of the case by the drive bay and that will let you know how much room you have. If it won't fit you should have plenty left over in your budget to buy a new case yank the board and processor out and install them in the new one with your new PSU and video card.

You can give us your budget in UK pounds - we are familiar with some of your local online vendors.
