New Build

Actually I am looking to do a major overhaul on the build I currently have. Seeing how funds are a bit stretched atm, I am keeping my case, power supply and HDD. I will be replacing the CPU, mobo, ram and graphics card.

Phenom II X6 1090T Processor
ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3
G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB Graphics >> worth the upgrade to the 6950?

Any ideas on what I should change/add? Anything I should stay away from or possibly think about before making the purchase? I do a bit of gaming and would possibly like to enter high end content with excellent graphics eventually.

Overclocking? If not, get 1333 ram, perferably from Corsair, Kingston or A-data.

I honestly don't know if I would benefit enough to make it worthwhile so I will look into those other brands and see what I can find. I have used both Corsair and Kingston both before without issue.

We also recommend Crucial ram. Stay away from G.skill.

What brand and model is your PSU?

Not too long ago I upgraded to a Corsair CMPSU-750TX. I went ahead and picked up some CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) which had some very good reviews and was 25% off.

Perhaps list out your build? It makes it easier to evaluate the entire build when in one post.

That would have been the smart thing to do at the start so i apologize for not doing so.

Current Keeps

Lian Li case
Corsair CMPSU-750TX PSU
8600GT (Removing for my 6850/6870 when this comes in)

Upgrade

Phenom II X6 1090T Processor
ASUS M4A87TD EVO AM3 mobo
CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600 (2 x 4GB)
AMD Radeon HD 6850 1GB Graphics
ZALMAN CNPS9700

I switched the brand on the memory as suggested but I thought about it and I think I would like the ability to overclock if I find the need. I don't want to be stuck with the option of deal with it or buy a new set of ram and the cost right now isn't bad. I also work for a place that gets me access to AMD's retail edge program. The processor will be purchased directly through them and does not come with a stock cooler. I have always heard that Zalman makes great products and wanted some feedback on the one I listed above if i may. Also, would you use the paste that Zalman provides or your own? Thanks so much for the help so far. The last time I made a build things were so much different than they are now.
