I'm a bit of a noob, but are you sure you don't have it setup to only accept 4 sticks on dual channel somehow? I'm not really sure if thats possible but maybe give it a try?

First of all I want to say that this doesn't actually pertain to your exact problem, however, this exact thing happened to me on my ASUS p5q pro motherboard awhile back.
The only fix for me was to flash the BIOS to the most updated version which made the "auto" config in the BIOS for the RAM work. I am not telling you to look for updates to your BIOS or to flash it, but the problem had to do with Voltage/Power and how much it was letting go through(it seemed to act in a linear fashion, as in from left to right, it would not give enough power to the last stick of RAM on the right if looking at the motherboard in the case.) That all said, have you checked what your settings in the BIOS are for your RAM? (voltage/speed/which config/etc.) |
