My 1st build. A low budget gaming PC
Hi there, I've just been reading forum posts and doing research for a few hours and now decided to post.
The rig i'm going for doesn't have to be blazing. Just handle mostly Starcraft 2 and possibly some older games like WoW and CS:S TF2 Etc.. The most important thing is for the rig to be very upgradeable! I would like to keep the build to the smallest budget possible. Maybe £400 - Yes i'm in the UK! However even after a few forum reads I soon learned that power and cooling are pretty essential and so as these are unlikely go to out of date as fast :S (I think!) Then I don't mind buying better than average parts in that area! However still unsure!I have put together a list, based on a barebones kit that I found while researching, however I did not like the sound of the company as reviews were marginal. However I know very little about compatibility - and I fear that I made have made some mistakes in my build design! I would be very grateful if anyone could look over this and give your thoughts/comments/ideas. PS: Every item without a link is one that I am very unsure about and need some definite help on! Thanks in advance! You don't need a CPU cooler if you're not overclocking. The stock fan will do fine.
Switch to an ASUS motherboard too. Might as well go for Windows 7 Home Professional. $100.

The Celeron CPU is pretty outdated. Would look to the i3 or i5 series of CPUs. you don't need an aftermarket CPU heatsink, the one that comes with the CPU is fine. Would look to the WD Black HD and for an OS, Win7 64bit.

Intel Core i3 2100 3.10GHz Socket 1155 3MB L3 Cache.. | Ebuyer.com is a new sandy bridge CPU needing a 1155 slot. The other is for a 1156 slot. In other words you can't use the second card with the motherboard glc suggested.

1155 is today's technology. 1156 is last year's technology. There is a significant difference.
