Sandy Bridge vs. AMD's Next line of processors?
Hey, so some of you may have seen my previous topic on building my PC. Originally, I was going to go w/ a 2500k. However, as I have *heard*, there will be a new AMD line for gaming at around the same price, coming out very soon. Has anyone heard on how it will compare for gaming/video editing (Now I'm thinking 2600k/Z68)?
I'm wondering if I should wait to see what they come out with, as apparently it will be coming in june. Just wondering what peoples thoughts are

In my opinion, it is all speculation at this point but it will be hard for AMD to catch up in regards towards the CPU end of things. I trust their GPU integration will be advanced as seen with the E-350 APU platform. I would be seriously impressed if they can out benchmark Intel on the core side.

-And- Is there any news about the Sandy Bridge extreme editions? They're aimed to come out around Q3 of this year correct? If so, I might be tempted to wait for one of those... But is there any news on the price, how it'll compare, and how many cores it contains, etc...? |

you can wait and then the next week something will be better.
the current z68 chipset will afford you with the latest technology in integrated CPU/GPU flexibility and ssd caching. ATI remains to be an anomaly at this time. I can not assume their will be a extreme brand of Intel when they offer unlocked multipliers and benchmarks they are producing. So in theory, AMD will hang their hat on GPU integration over ssd caching. |
