Configuring Bios
Foxconn Case
Coolermaster 460W psu Asus P4P800se mobo 3.0 ghz Prescott 4 x 512mb pc3200 Crucial ATI Radeon 9250 128 MB Video Since my build is finished (physically) and working, I thought it might be appropriate if I started a new thread for this question: When configuring the bios setup options, with a machine that will never be overclocked, is there anything to be gained by manually configuring options like dram frequency and timing, various voltages, etc. instead of leaving them set to "auto"? Does using "auto" settings usually mean that the bios will set these things to match the specs of the components, or does it just substitute default values that are not specifically related to the hardware?

The default Auto settings are normally good settings if you do not need to fuss with something to make it work or you are not going to be overclocking.
If your computer is working fine, then leave well enough alone. More and more intelligence is built into computers in order to make things easier for the user. Much more so than a number of years ago. I remember pulling my hair out fussing with IRQ's and other tech geek stuff back in the DOS days just to get my computer to work at all. Back then software never seemed to work right out of the box. Feel fortunate that in many situations diving into the BIOS is no longer necessary.
