Hi jawilliams15. I'd be inclined to think that there might be a loose connection of some sort, since the problem isn't consistent. Have you tried removing your video card and re-installing it to be sure that it's seated well? Or, maybe you could learn more about the problem (ascertain that the computer is booting or isn't) if you also experimented using the onboard video or another video card temporarily.

When you first turn on the machine, do you see the bios screen or the Windows Loading screen? Have you tried using the onboard video on that motherboard?

Edit 1: You indicate a ram issue? Have you tried booting the computer on one stick of ram in either DIMM slot?

i see the bios and start up when the motherboard doesnt indicate a problem. but ive tried all that and nothing works so i might just have faulty ram... the motherboard has a MemOK! switch and a light for the DRAM. the light comes on on start up every time but when it stays on it means the DIMM is installed incorrectly and im supposed to reinstall it and hold the switch before it clears the computer for boot but that only works sometimes

Have you tested the RAM with memtest or the memory tool that comes with the Windows DVD?
